Most Toy Poodles are around 25 cm in height, and weigh
approximately 6.5-7.5 kg. You can expect to spend approximately
12-15 loving years with a Toy Poodle.
Personality
Toy Poodles are very intelligent, active and agile small dogs.
This light-hearted and friendly French breed is easily trained and
truly enjoys showing off and clowning around for attention and
affection. Toy poodles are generally quite adaptive and
well-mannered, but training and socialization go a long way towards
controlling barking and creating a harmonious existence with other
dogs and small children. Toy Poodles prefer to be at their owner's
side, and as a result, hate being left on their own. Although they
don't need a lot of exercise, they are athletic and are considered
to be good swimmers. Despite the fact that they can get ample
exercise indoors, they thrive with the mental and physical
stimulation of the outdoors.
Grooming and Exercise
You'll need to frequently brush and comb your Toy Poodle's coat.
To keep your Toy Poodle looking their best, professional grooming
is also recommended. Consider having your Toy Poodle trimmed,
shaved, and clipped every three to six weeks, starting when they
are 3 ½ weeks old. As a Toy Poodle's exercise needs are minimal in
nature, these small dogs can get enough exercise through fun and
play indoors.
