Expectancy
Most Yorkshire Terriers are around 22.5-23.5 cm in height, and
usually weigh in at around 3 kg. You can expect to enjoy at least
14 special years with a Yorkshire Terrier.
Personality
Yorkshire Terriers are highly energetic and clever small dogs. They
are quite affectionate and depend on getting plenty of attention
and pampering from their owners. Yorkies are true to their Terrier
lineage and can be impulsive, lively and strong-willed. They can be
easy to train, but sometimes their stubbornness can get in the way.
You have to be strict when training Yorkies, so that they won't
become spoiled. Yorkies are also suspicious of strangers, and do
not get along with small, unpredictable children and other
dogs.
Grooming and Exercise
The soft, wispy double coat of the Havanese sheds very little, but
must be brushed regularly to keep it from matting. Many owners have
their dogs trimmed to simplify grooming. While lively and playful,
these dogs don't need excessive exercise, and are usually satisfied
by playing indoors on top of brisk daily walks.
